Russia-Ukraine war: Frontline update as of May 14

The situation at the front remains difficult. The Russian forces, using their superiority in manpower and equipment, are intensively attacking the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Meanwhile, Ukrainian defenders are holding back the onslaught of the Russian army, inflicting maximum losses on the enemy, according to data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

General situation at the front

Over the last day, 130 combat engagements took place in the frontline.

In total, the enemy launched 2 missile and 65 air strikes, fired 74 times from multiple launch rocket systems at Ukrainian positions and settlements. Residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Russian army continues to terrorize the civilian population of the Sumy region. Thus, today it launched an air strike near Dmytrivka.

The situation in specific directions

In the Kharkiv direction, the number of enemy attacks increased to 14. Combat actions took place in the areas of Lyptsi, Vovchansk, Neskuchne. The losses of the Russian army over the past day amounted to about 120 servicemen and 23 units of weapons and military equipment.

In the Kupiansk direction, 20 military clashes were recorded, in particular in the vicinity of Synkivka, Berestove, and Miasozharivka.

In the Siversk direction, Russian troops conducted 9 attacks near Spirne, Ivan-Daryivka, Verkhnekamianske, and Rozdolivka.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy has intensified its activities. The number of enemy attacks increased significantly to 21.

The intensity of hostilities remains high in the Pokrovsk direction. The enemy continues to carry out air strikes, in particular in the vicinity of Umanske, Novoselivka Persha, and Zhelanne. The combat aircraft was used by the enemy 16 times. Guided missiles were also used.

In total, 40 attacks on Ukrainian positions took place in this direction today. Most of them took place in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Netailove, and Soloviove.

In the Kurakhove direction, Defense forces successfully repelled 9 enemy attacks. The enemy is concentrating its efforts in the areas of Heorhiivka, Novomykhailivka, and Krasnohorivka.

In the Prydniprovsk direction, today, the enemy attacked Ukrainian defenders near Krynky 5 times, without success.

In the Lyman, Toretsk, Vremivka, Huliaipole, Orikhiv directions there were no significant changes in the situation.

According to the General Staff, the Defense Forces are responding adequately to the enemy's actions and are taking the necessary measures to stabilize the situation.

The total number of Russian army losses since the beginning of the invasion is 485,430.
