The One Show dropped from air in big BBC schedule shake up
It's a staple of early evening TV but BBC's The One Show is notably missing from the schedules this week. The BBC is making some big changes in the coming days as sport dominates programming.
With Euro 2024 well underway and Wimbledon 2024 launching on Monday, July 1, many TV favourites have been dropped to make way for prime-time coverage of live football and tennis matches.
Hosted by regulars Alex Jones, Jermaine Jenas and Roman Kemp, The One show is missing from TV schedules throughout this week. While it's often moved from its regular 7pm BBC1 slot to BBC2 to make way for major sporting events or political debates ahead of the forthcoming general election, this week The One Show has been dropped altogether.

Host Alex Jones warned viewers of The One Show's schedule shake-up on Friday
Alex announced the show would be taking a break during the episode last Friday, confirming it would return on Monday, July 8. It comes days after The One Show was halted live on air and guest Stacey Dooley was rushed off midway through a chat with Alex and Roman.
And it's not just The One Show which is vanishing, fans of daytime favourites like BBC1's Bargain Hunt and Escape To The Country will also be missing out on their usual fix as the major sports tournaments and coverage for Thursday's general election get plenty of air time.
Meanwhile, EastEnders is also faced with disruption this week, although it will still be shown in different timeslots on BBC2 rather than its usual home on BBC1.
