Met Office Wednesday Morning Weather Forecast 03/07/2024

Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Wednesday. For most it's a wet start to the day and rather breezy and also cool, all courtesy of an area of low pressure which sits to the northwest of the UK. Last night we saw this warm front moving with some outbreaks of rain. This is the cold front which will tend to weaken through the behind it. The air turns a bit more blustery with some showers. So no one immune to some wet weather. But through the morning we'll see some drier interludes coming through towards the southwest. Not the case across western and central parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland. Cloud outbreaks of rain, a keen breeze, few showers for Shetland, Orkney, one or two running in across Aberdeenshire down towards Borders. For northern England and eastern England, it's a cloudy start again with some showery bursts of rain and few showers likely. Also down towards the southwest. But notice there are some holes in the cloud. Lucky ones. Seeing some warmer weather coming through through the first part of this morning. So we watch through the day as first of all this area of cloud and rain from around 5:00 AM just extends eastwards and slowly clear. And then it pretty much is cloud with some, this is the cold front here, which again will March its way eastwards, taking with it the low cloud and some outbreaks of rain which will extend towards northwest England through the afternoon. Some brighter weather with some showers to follow across Northern Ireland and then eventually western Scotland. By the afternoon you can see W Wales and the West countries seeing that cloud. Outbreaks of rain also for Cumbria, Lancashire down towards Greater Manchester and Cheshire, Liverpool towards the east. Temperatures around 17 Celsius. We see a few showers through the afternoon. 16 for Scotland. We could squeeze a 20 towards the far South East. So few showers through evening time on Wednesday but really it's towards the north where the winds will pick up some strength. Turning gusty into Thursday morning with a rash of which will be heavy with the risk of sunshine and showers for Northern Ireland and Northern England through the first part of the on Thursday elsewhere. Brighter skies coming through some sunshine. These showers towards the north, they are likely to be frequent and as I said, the winds will be gusty, particularly through the morning, but even the afternoon keen breeze as temperatures reach around 1516. We could see a 21 down towards the South and your outlook through Friday. This time the cloud and rain will be in the South. Persistent through the afternoon. Showers further north and we've lost the strength of the wind. See you later.
