Neither William nor Harry will inherit their mother's home

The Althorp Estate, a prestigious and historic property in Northamptonshire, is known for being the childhood home of Princess Diana. However, neither Prince William nor Prince Harry - who is said to have grown bitter after his uncle's warnings over Meghan Markle - are in line to inherit it.

This grand estate, which covers over 13,000 acres, has been the ancestral home of the Spencer family for more than five centuries. The estate will be passed on to their cousin Louis, the son of Earl Spencer, Diana's brother.

Despite having three older sisters, 30 year old Viscount Althorp, Louis, is set to inherit the estate due to the aristocracy's system of primogeniture. This means that titles are passed down to the eldest son, not the firstborn child.

The estate is where Diana spent her childhood and is also her final resting place. Over the years, Althorp has been carefully preserved and continues to represent the legacy of the Spencer family.

At present, the Althorp Estate is owned by Charles Spencer, the 9th Earl Spencer. Under his stewardship, Althorp has hosted numerous events and exhibitions, including tributes to Diana's charitable work and life, reports the Express.

Born in 1994, Louis is the eldest son of Charles Spencer and his first wife, Victoria Lockwood. As the heir apparent, Louis is next in line to become the 10th Earl Spencer, a title that comes with the responsibility of managing the Althorp Estate.

Louis Spencer, Viscount Althorp, keeps it on the down-low compared to his celeb kin. He's a Uni of Edinburgh grad who polished his acting chops at a drama school in Chiswick.

Now with Tavistock Wood talent agency, an insider spilled to The Telegraph: "He's super private and gets on quietly with his thing. He's a very talented actor and, I think, will be a brilliant one. You'd like him. He's very low-key and genuine, decent and kind and tall."

Louis is already sitting in on Trustee meetings for the hefty historical estate he's set to bag, as OK! Magazine has it. When he bags Althorp, Louis Spencer will nab the Earl Spencer title and the big job of keeping up one of Blighty's most talked-about estates.

Lady Kitty Spencer has spoken out about her younger brother Louis inheriting the family estate, acknowledging the complexities of primogeniture in modern times. As quoted by the Mirror, she remarked: "Primogeniture can be a tricky topic, because as times are changing, attitudes are as well. We've grown up understanding that it's Louis to inherit, and Louis will do an incredible job."

Open to the public during select periods, Althorp Estate invites visitors to tour the grand mansion and gardens, delving into the Spencer family's storied past.
