The Blue Jackets have announced the signing of forward Dylan Gambrell today. The contract is a one-way, two-year deal worth $775k and he will be UFA after next season.
Gambrell has played in 233 games for the San Jose Sharks and Ottawa Senators while chipping in 17 goals and totaling 40 points. He also has a career total of 94 points in the 135 AHL games.
This signing comes on the heels of the Jackets moving on from Brendan Gaunce and Josh Dunne. Gambrell will no doubt replace those guys in Cleveland and be expected to chip in some points. Also, having played in his fair share of NHL games, he could be called up to fill in if the CBJ happens to have any injuries.
This is a good depth signing for the Columbus organization.
