Shaq says he would love to play for Warriors in today's NBA: "I would do what these bums are doing now, and I'd be making a lot of money"

The Golden State Warriors are the most dominant team in the modern NBA—they have won four NBA championships since 2015. With plenty of outside shooting, the Dubs never needed a dominant big man to man their center position. But what if the Steph Curry-led Warriors had someone like that? And what if that someone was Shaquille O'Neal?
Well, Shaq thinks that would be a good idea. In fact, if he were a player today, Diesel said he would love to be on the Warriors. During the latest episode of The Big Podcast, the Hall of Famer explained why.
"You have to double me," O'Neal said. "Draymond would average ten more points because he'd cut to the basket, and I'd drop him off, and I'd kick it out to Steph and Klay, and nobody would beat us, and I would never have to score. I would do what these bums are doing now, and I'd be making a whole lot of money."
Earning big money
The Warriors would have indeed been nearly unstoppable with Shaq. Golden State's strength is the Splash Brothers' outside shooting. Complement that with a dominant post player like O'Neal, and one of the best offensive squads ever would become even more invincible.
However, aside from the obvious, O'Neal would make much more money playing in this era. Shaq has been very critical and jealous of the contracts today's big men get despite producing mediocre numbers. Earlier this year, Diesel took a shot at his favorite target.
"If I were 42, I'd be making Rudy Gobert money," O'Neal said. "Twelve points and eight rebounds? I could do that s**t right now... making $250 million... averaging twelve points."
O'Neal would be more dominant today
But while Shaq told Lefkoe that he wouldn't need to score points if he played for Golden State, the legendary big man boasted earlier this year that he would be just as dominant today as he was during his era.
"I am the most dominant player to ever step on a basketball court," said Shaq during an interview for Relevo, which Talkbasket.com translated. "I haven't seen anyone yet who I thought could stop me. I think I would just be just as dominant now. With how open the game is and with all those three-pointers and shooters, the paint would be much more open for me to work on."
It would be unfair to have Big Aristotle play alongside Steph and Klay Thompson. That's probably why the basketball gods made sure it never happened.
