MUNICH, 2nd July, 2024 (WAM) -- The Netherlands national team has advanced to the quarter-finals of the UEFA European Football Championship "Euro 2024" after a decisive 3-0 victory over Romania in the round of 16 match that was held today at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.
Cody Gakpo opened the scoring for the Netherlands in the 20th minute, followed by a goal from Donny van de Beek in the 83rd minute. Memphis Depay sealed the win with a goal in the third minute of added time (90+3).
In the quarter-finals, the Netherlands will face the winner of tonight's Austria vs. Türkiye match. The quarter-final clash is scheduled for next Saturday.
