Steelers G Mason McCormick Ready To 'Help Any Way I Can!'
There is no other position group that the Pittsburgh Steelers and general manager Omar Khan addressed more in the 2024 NFL Draft than offensive line.
After taking Washington tackle Troy Fautanu in the first round and West Virginia center Zach Frazier in the second round, Khan and the Steelers selected guard Mason McCormick from South Dakota State at No. 119 overall in the fourth round.

And McCormick says he's ready to help the team immediately.
" I just want to be able to help the team in any way I can," McCormick told Dakota News Now. "Whether that's on special teams or on offense or whatever, I just want to be able to help the team however and get on the field as fast as I can."
The good news for McCormick is that head coach Mike Tomlin welcomes the early competition as he stated right after April's draft, "We are going to have him penciled in at the guard position. He will come in and compete from day one."
Offensive line coach Pat Meyer was high on McCormick from Day 1 too, as he spoke after the selection back in April.
"We obviously loved him," said Meyer. "He comes from a smaller school, but the kid is tough. He plays football the right way. He wanted to be a Steeler, I know that just talking to him, working the kid out. We are excited to have him.
McCormick earned All-America honors and All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honors four times in college and was also Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Lineman of the Week after the team's win over North Dakota last year.
"I think on the field there is only one way to play this game," McCormick said after the draft. "When you are off the field, there is no reason not to be a good person and nice to people."
