Seahawks safety K'Von Wallace putting in offseason work at Clemson

One of several positions the Seahawks front office totally turned over this offseason was safety. Last year Quandre Diggs, Jamal Adams and the rest accounted for the most-expensive safety unit in the NFL by a significant margin. The results were far from what Seattle paid for, so they blew the top off, cutting both Diggs and Adams for cap savings despite taking on a ton of dead money in both cases.

Now 2023 Pro Bowler Julian Love is at the top of the depth chart, followed by Rayshawn Jenkins, a free agent signee from the Jaguars. Just below them there's K'Von Wallace, another free agent addition who's playing on a one-year deal. Here's a clip of Wallace putting in some offseason work at his alma mater, Clemson.

Since he was drafted in 2020, Wallace has appeared in 62 games and earned 19 starts between the Eagles, Titans and Cardinals.

Whether new head coach Mike Macdonald will continue some of the three-safety sets we saw on Seattle's defense last year or not remains to be seen. Either way, Wallace could earn significant playing time depending on the rotation in the slot, where Devon Witherspoon should be a clear No. 1 option but there's no other DB near his level. If Wallace can beat out the embattled Coby Bryant he may find himself getting a healthy chunk of snaps there.
