A new feature from Parks Canada will notify you when campsites become available
Anyone who has ever tried to reserve a camping site in Canada knows how competitive it is to get the sites you want. If you’re unlucky and miss out on your site of choice, you probably know the pain of refreshing the booking website frequently hoping something opens up.
Well, those days are gone. Parks Canada announced that they have added a “Notify me” feature on their website. Now, campers can get a notification right to their inbox when a frontcountry campsite or Parks Canada accommodation (oTENTik tents, yurts, cabins, etc.) becomes available in their desired park during their desired dates.
This update comes after Ontario Parks launched a similar feature back in 2022.
Currently, this service is not available for backcountry sites. “Parks Canada is working hard to introduce further improvements to its reservation service, and further communications will follow when availability notifications are expanded,” says Megan Hope, a media representative from Parks Canada.
“Notify me” is now available on the Parks Canada reservation site. To use the feature, sign into your Parks Canada account, select your desired park and dates and then press “Notify me”. Once a spot is open, you will receive an email notification.
