Gilded Beauty Shines at Dior's Fall/Winter 2024 Haute Couture Show

Dior's runways often go for the glow. “Whether it’s a glossy glow or a pearlescent glow, it really makes you radiant,” Peter Philips, creative and image director for Dior Makeup, previously told Bazaar ahead of the house's ready-to-wear show last February. “It’s like you turn on the light on the inside, and that’s something people are starting to master and keep going.” A similar philosophy of otherworldly luminescence continued on the runway during Dior's Fall/Winter 2024-2025 Haute Couture presentation.

The runway show debuted at the Musée Rodin in Paris earlier this week and was framed with reproductions of works created by late artist Faith Ringgold. Backstage, models’ skin was prepped for makeup with Dior's Capture Totale Le Sérum and Capture Totale Hyalushot. Phillips next used the brand's Forever Glow Star Filter as a primer and rounded off their complexion looks with a dewy yet natural finish with the Forever Skin Glow foundation. The Dior team reached for the Forever Skin Correct full-coverage concealer for touch-ups.

And to achieve the season's gilded eye look? “I opened the eyes by curling the lashes, then illuminated the upper eyelids with the translucent golden shade from the Diorshow 5 Couleurs in 539 Grand Bal palette," Philips explains. "I also used the deeper central color from the palette to intensify the look. Lastly, I structured and defined the eyebrows with Diorshow Brow Styler and Diorshow On Set Brow.” Philips and team kept nails and lips minimal with a few swipes of the brand's sheer Rouge Dior Baume in 000 Diornatural Satin, along with Dior's Vernis nail lacquer in the shade 108 Muguet.

In addition to styling models' hair in slim cornrows hanging mid-back, some wore sleek wet-look styles created by lead stylist Guido Palau and team that expertly paired with the overall sport-inspired collection. After their glistening Fall/Winter 2024 Haute Couture show, it's clear that going for the gold is not just a theme for next month's Paris-based Olympic games, but on the runway at Dior as well.
