Cyndi Lauper sparks concern after Glastonbury's festival-goers' mass exit during set

Pop sensation, Cyndi Lauper, sparked a buzz on social media with her Glastonbury gig as festival-goers at Worthy Farm walked away before her set concluded.

The chart-topping 80s icon graced the Pyramid Stage on Saturday, kicking off with her 80s anthem The Goonies 'R' Good Enough.

Despite battling technical snags with her microphone, which seemed to get sorted by the end of her act, Cyndi also showcased her skills on the recorder during her second number.

The US songstress briefly exited the stage mid-performance to attend to "one little thing" but made a roaring comeback to belt out her hit I Drove All Night, to a roaring applause.

Addressing the crowd, Cyndi expressed her delight at performing at the festival and extended a "happy Pride for those celebrating".

Before performing Change Of Heart, she quipped about her dance moves in Leicester Square for the 1986 track's video, admitting she trampled "some of the pansies" and jokingly claimed she's "not allowed there anymore".

Yet, after delivering her smash hit Girls Just Want To Have Fun, many festival-goers were seen leaving, with Cyndi reportedly appearing distressed by the mass exit.

A Mirror journalist observed the star's reaction at the scene. Prior to singing her iconic tune, Cyndi addressed the audience with a powerful message: "It's time world leaders recognised that women are half of the population.

While she performed the 80s hit, Cyndi's audio improved and she spoke out about the feminist marches of 2017, "Reproductive rights," and gave a shout-out to the West End's Kinky Boots.

However, viewers at home had mixed reactions to her Glastonbury gig as one Twitter user commented: "Cyndi Lauper's struggling a bit at #Glastonbury - the crowd are giving her a large helping hand. She looks fantastic though, and easy to forget she's 71 years old.

"We had Blondie doing it this time last year, and Debbie Harry was 77 years old at the time."

Another viewer remarked: "Cyndi Lauper looking a little worse for wear tbf."

While a third observer questioned: "I wonder if Cyndi Lauper's band has in-ear monitoring delay issues. Cyndi seems to be singing half a beat behind everyone, and they all feel oddly disjointed, especially for an American session outfit."

Despite the concern, others defended the crooner as a fan hit back: "Same bores whinging about Dua Lipa are on Cyndi Lauper now. if you want perfectly performed and recorded guitar widdling. go f**k off and listen to the eagles."
