Long weekend severe storm risk brewing for Eastern Canada
The Trans Canada storm will be making its final stop in Atlantic Canada for Sunday, but we do have a severe possible listed in areas of Eastern townships to central New Brunswick where you could see the main hazards like strong wind gusts, small hail and one or two tornadoes. So to break down the timing, we will start to see those thunderstorms roll into southern areas of Quebec and start to peek into New Brunswick for the early afternoonly hours where the severe possible is potential. So we'll see here highlighted. With those dark purples will be into the late afternoon and that will dissipate into the evening and overnight where we'll start to see more calmer conditions. But here's a look at what we have for the thunderstorm energy. The rides and oranges that you're seeing will be highlighted. Peek into the afternoon hours where the potential for the severe is more greater. But the amount of rainfall that we could be expecting through Sunday is going to be heaviest alongside the embedded thunderstorms. But overall, generally we'll be getting upward to 30mm of rain. But looking at the long range, we'll start to see this cold front slide its way down South, but we'll start to see a low front peak into. The southern regions of New Brunswick bringing in widespread conditions that will continue to persist into the evening. Even into areas of Newfoundland. So conditions for Monday, we'll finally see a Ridge of high pressure over the Great Lakes, bringing in sunny conditions for Quebec and New Brunswick with that clearing of that cold front, But again, unsettled conditions for Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.
