Stocks to watch, shares in news: Benchmark indices fell on the last trading session of the week as well as the month, Friday, June 28, breaking the 4-day winning streak. Both the benchmark indices - Sensex and Nifty 50 zoomed in early trade to hit new highs, however, they started erasing initial gains post-mid day, weighed down primarily by private banks.
The 30-share BSE Sensex slid 210 points or 0.27 per cent to close at 79,032.73. The index hit its new lifetime peak of 79,671.58, helped by buying in bluechip Reliance Industries. The NSE Nifty index opened above the 24,100 level and gained momentum as the day progressed only to end the session in red. The benchmark index hit an all-time high of 24,174 before closing 33.90 points or 0.14 per cent lower at 24,010.60.
Meanwhile, GIFT Nifty on Monday early morning was trading in the green above 24,124.5, indicating that benchmark NSE Nifty50 may see a positive start.

Cochin Shipyard
Udupi Cochin Shipyard (UCSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Cochin Shipyard (CSL),informed the bourses on Friday, June 28, that it bagged an international order from Wilson ASA, Norway, for Design and Construction of 4 nos. of 6300 TDW Dry Cargo Vessels. An agreement for an additional four vessels of the same type is expected to be formalised by September 19, 2024. The overall order is worth Rs 1,100 crore.
Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL)
BEL has received a contract worth Rs 3,172 crore from Vehicles Nigam to supply sighting and fire control system for Indian Army tanks and received additional orders worth Rs 481 crore for meteorological equipment.
Vodafone Idea
Vodafone Idea joined its peers Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel to raise rates for prepaid and post-paid consumers by 10-21%. The new plans will come into effect from July 4.

Online food delivery platform Zomato has received a fresh Goods and Service Tax (GST) demand notice for about Rs 9.45 crore with interest and penalty. The company said in a stock regulatory filing that the demand has been raised by the Assistant Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Audit), Karnataka.
Tata Steel
Tata Steel converted debt instruments aggregating to $564 million, or around Rs 4,713 crore, held by the company in subsidiary T Steel Holdings Pte. into equity. The company converted the debt into over 359 crore fully paid-up equity shares of face value $0.157 each. Post this conversion, TSHP will continue to be a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, according to an exchange filing.
