The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has been outstanding, to say the least in the T20 World Cup 2024. After a shaky start to the tournament in the United States of America, he has hit the ground running especially in the last two games against England and Australia.

After the premature dismissals of Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant, Rohit formed a solid partnership with Suryakumar Yadav worth 73 runs in 50 balls to put India back on track.

During the partnership, there was a moment where Rohit looked to attack Sam Curran in the 13th over. After Suryakumar smashed a six off the first delivery, the Indian skipper was seen revealing to his batting partner that if the bowler pitched the delivery on a fuller length once again, he go for the biggie.

“Upar dega toh deta hu na (if he overpitches, I will hit him)”, said Rohit Sharma.

Rohit did not disappoint as Curran did go for the fuller ball which was sent flying over the boundary ropes at the fine-leg region to bring up a fine half-century. The two scored some valuable runs for the Indian team to get them to a decent score of 171/7 by the end of the first innings.

The Indian spin duo of Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav came into the party for the second innings as the two picked up three wickets each to take out any chance of the defending champions chasing down the target and India marched onto the big finale.

Rohit will have yet another opportunity to grab some silverware as they will be taking on an unbeaten South Africa for the summit clash that will take place in Barbados.

The Indian team could finally end their long-standing World Cup drought with India once again looking as the firm favourites to take home the title. But that will come down to how both teams turn up on the big occasions.

The Indian team have already made their way to Barbados and the big finale is slated to take place on Saturday at 8 PM IST.
