'Sad', 'angry', 'scared': Hundreds protest against far-right in Paris after election results
Arrests for hundreds of mostly left wing supporters gathered last night at Republic in the centre of Paris. The demonstrators, they're calling for a huge turn out next weekend to block the National Front from taking an overall majority next weekend. I hope that the political right will call for a widespread mobilization, just that the left did when it was Chirac against Jean Marie Le Pen. If the right wing does not cover it coming together behind the left wing Republican front. Let's just hope that that happens, because without that, I really don't know. There's just hope. I do not feel listened to, am really sad about the results, and I hope that things will improve. I'm really angry too. I don't think that enough people came out to vote. Too many people did not pay attention to our voice. Extremist. Think that people here are extremists? This rise of extremism. I'm worried about the far right because of their economics, but also the way they speak about immigration, what they say about. I'm scared about all that. It will be an economic catastrophe and will divide the whole country. It is a hateful party.
