Solo Sikoa is completely wrong about Roman Reigns
SmackDown airs tonight (June 28) with a live show emanating from Madison Square Garden in New York City. This is the second episode of SmackDown during the three week build towards Money in the Bank, which takes place on July 6 in Toronto.
Solo Sikoa is completely wrong about Roman Reigns
On last week’s episode of SmackDown, Paul Heyman was crushed when Solo Sikoa told him that Roman Reigns isn’t coming back to WWE. I don’t know where Solo gets his information from, but the guy clearly doesn’t know what he’s talking about, or he is blatantly lying to Paul for some reason. Roman Reigns is definitely coming back to WWE, it’s just a matter of when the time is right.
Until that happens, though, Sikoa is amassing power as The Bloodline’s new Head of the Table by breaking all the rules and adding new members who are presumably loyal to him instead of Roman, such as Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, and now Jacob Fatu. Jacob just arrived on the scene last week and impressively destroyed Kevin Owens, Randy Orton, and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
Solo will now lead a Bloodline acknowledgment ceremony tonight to officially welcome Fatu into the group. Will all hell break loose if and when the aforementioned babyfaces interrupt the ceremony? Is there a six-man or eight-man tag team match coming our way at Money in the Bank? Will Paul Heyman receive a sign that Roman Reigns is in fact on his way back to WWE? Where is Jimmy Uso? You’ll have to tune into SmackDown tonight to find out the answers to some of these questions.
The rest of tonight’s card
Tonight’s card also features three qualifying bouts for the Money in the Bank ladder matches. On the men’s side, Santos Escobar, LA Knight, and United States Champion Logan Paul will fight it out for one of those spots. Just like with Randy Orton and Tama Tonga last week, perhaps this will be a case where Knight and Paul’s rivalry costs them both, giving Escobar a path to victory.
There are two qualifying matches in the women’s division. Naomi vs. Blair Davenport vs. Indi Hartwell is one such match. Davenport has yet to wrestle on main roster television; winning this kind of match at MSG would be a hell of a way to make a debut, while also backing up some of her recent trash talk towards WWE Women’s Champion Bayley.
Then there is Jade Cargill vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Candice LeRae. Cargill is looking to succeed where her tag team partner Bianca Belair failed last week, in terms of qualifying for the ladder match. Will Stratton’s new alliance with Nia Jax somehow pay off by helping her prevail here?
Other stuff to keep an eye on
- Will Austin Theory return to TV in time for DIY to challenge A-Town Down Under for the WWE Tag Team Championship, perhaps at Money in the Bank? Or does WWE plan to extend this story until SummerSlam weekend in Johnny Gargano’s hometown of Cleveland?
- Are there any creative plans for AJ Styles on SmackDown television before he returns to Japan in July for a match against Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Naomichi Marufuji?
- Is there any update on Bob Lashley’s health status? He’s been out of action since a house show in early May.
- Do the Wyatt Sicks plan to leave SmackDown alone for now, and instead focus their terror on the Raw brand?
- Giovanni Vinci is totally screwed on this new SmackDown roster, isn’t he?
