Chicago Sky Fans Outraged After Fan Favorite Kysre Gondrezick Gets Released

The Chicago Sky announced on Friday that guard Kysre Gondrezick has been waived by the team.

This announcement comes as shock for many different reasons.

There's the fact that Gondrezick and Angel Reese are very close friends, and Reese is surely going to be upset by this news.

And that's not to mention that Gondrezick is a fan favorite, and even drained a three pointer during the waning moments of the Sky's loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday.

All of these reasons allude to why Sky fans are up in arms on Friday.

"Waiving players mid season is such a punch in the gut," one X user wrote in a reply to Women's Hoops Network's announcement about Gondrezick's release.

"She didn’t really get a chance, but I hope she lands on another team," said another user.

And other fans are sending words of support, such as, "Keep your head up @KysreRae we are rooting for you keep going!"

Surely Angel Reese will speak out about this in the near future.
