Express problems impacting mental health

SHAH ALAM - Everyone should prioritise their mental health to lead a more productive and peaceful life, especially when dealing with life's challenges.

Clinical psychologist Yasmin Khan advised that anyone facing a problem, particularly work-related issues, should promptly seek support from trusted friends or family.

She said when someone was facing difficult situations, especially in their personal life, they should not be afraid to share their problems with someone close instead of keeping them to themselves.

"Sometimes, the problems we face make us less productive, especially at work, making it difficult to complete tasks.

"People often feel more comfortable not expressing any issues to their employer or supervisor," she said during the third series of Sinar Daily's talk programme She Leads entitled "Elevating the Fitness of Your Mind and Body" on Tuesday.

Yasmin further explained that a healthy diet could also stimulate a sharper mind in maintaining a balanced life.

She added that prioritising self-care in daily routines and finding joy in every aspect of life could help prevent stress-related issues.

"When it comes to food, I really love it. Eat anything you like, but make sure it does not harm your health, as food is also important to ensure good mental health," she said.
