Unlike our friends across the pond, us Brits often neglect SPF until we’re in the throngs of a heatwave. As a result, we are no connoisseurs in what formulas work best for us – often resorting to the same old bottle in our cupboard from last year’s holiday.
New research from La Roche-Posay reveals that more than a third of British millennials believe you can’t get sunburned within the first 30 minutes of being outside.
Worrying statistics like this have led to increasing discussions surrounding suncare. And as conversations have ramped up, so have modern formulas. Gone are the days of greasy spot-inducing silicones – here are the best kind-to-skin sunscreens for your skin type.

How to apply sunscreen correctly
It’s important to get the basics right. You should be applying two finger lengths’ worth of product onto your face and neck every day, and ideally every couple of hours if you’re out in the sun. And even if you’re indoors, remember UVA penetrates windows and is more intense through aeroplanes.
