Rapper Warren G calls Vancouver streets 'pretty rough' on social media
3 popular rappers were in Vancouver last night for the Cali to Canada tour, and while the concert was a hit with fans, rapper Warren G wasn't exactly feeling the love for Vancouver on social media. Man, I said in the streets of Vancouver. It's pretty rough around here. It ain't everywhere. Ain't pieces of cream. The extent of Vancouver's drugs, disorder and gangs, a surprise to the 53 year old who hails from Los Angeles County. He also said a stranger tried to mess with him until he revealed he wasn't from here. And Warren G is not the first rapper to drop a diss on downtown Van. Man, y'all sweat at the border, Y'all got an alley for the mall that y'all let do drugs. This is terrible, girl, this is terrible. Snoop Dogg, who also performed at Rogers Arena last night, had those observations about Vancouver in 2016. Here's what tourists we caught up with today had to say. I'd say it's very similar to Manchester, These parts I wouldn't want to walk in Manchester and I guess although we've not found them, places in Vancouver you wouldn't want to walk. People is very friendly and there's very good illumination. And at night I'd say Norway is even better than Vancouver actually. Have you run into any issues on the streets around here? No, no, not really. I live in California. I haven't noticed anything different. Just last week, Vancouver police reported overall crime as of the end of March was down nearly 9%. Year over year.
