'I Am Honored': Robert Englund Reacts to Hollywood Walk of Fame Induction
Horror icon Robert Englund is getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The announcement prompted an excited response from the Freddy Krueger actor.
On Monday, the Hollywood Walk of Fame class of 2025 was unveiled. Among the inductees is Englund, who's best known to horror fans for his run playing Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. On X, Englund shared a few posts commenting on the news, remarking how he feels like he's in "great company" with the other new names getting added. It's also making him feel "grateful" for the recognition.

In the Motion Picture category, other new names include fellow horror legend John Carpenter, as well as Jessica Chastain, Bill Duke, Emilio Estevez, Colin Farrell, and Nia Long. Television stars getting added include Fran Drescher, Lauren Graham, Bill Nye, Molly Shannon, Sherri Shepherd, Courtney B. Vance, and South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
Robert Englund Is Best Known for A Nightmare on Elm Street
Englund spent decades playing the role of Freddy Krueger, making the dream demon the actor's most well-known role. After playing Freddy on the big screen for the final time in 2003's Freddy vs. Jason, Englund reprised the part for the television series The Goldbergs in 2018. He's still involved with the horror genre with his more recent work including a guest role in Stranger Things' fourth season. The actor will also be heard in Abruptio, an upcoming horror film made with lifelike puppets that features Englund in a voiceover role.
Previously, Englund appeared in dozens of other roles as well. That includes parts in films like The Phantom of the Opera, The Mangler, Strangeland, and Urban Legend. He memorably starred in the 80s series V and has done voiceover work for animated shows like The Batman, The Spectacular Spider-Man, and Regular Show.
