The Spurs stay and select Harrison Ingram at 48th in the 2024 NBA Draft
After a hectic first day in the NBA Draft where the San Antonio Spurs selected Stephon Castle at the 4th pick before trading away the 8th pick in the first round, the Spurs began today the way they left off. Trading out of their original pick. The good news was they only traded down one spot before selecting Juan Nunez out of Spain at pick 36.
In their final pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, the Spurs used the 48th pick on Wing/Forward Harrison Ingram out of North Carolina.
Harrison Ingram stands at 6’5 with a stocky 234 frame and a 7’0 wingspan. Ingram is a high IQ player with playmaking chops. He also offers shooting from the perimeter as he made 38.5% of his 4.6 3PA per game at North Carolina as a Junior. He is a strong rebounder at only 6’5, using his long wingspan to help average 8.8 rebounds a game last season. The North Carolina product is known as a high effort player that plays with a chip on his shoulder and competes to the highest level. He is a versatile defender and has shown comfortability switching onto guards. If this sounds very much like a Spursy pick, that’s because it is! Ingram will likely fit into the Spurs culture, albeit most likely starting his career in Austin.
Well, that’s it for the 2024 NBA Draft for the San Antonio Spurs. They started with 4 picks and ended up with two players. Stephon Castle at #4 and Harrison Ingram at #48. Please welcome them to San Antonio!
