AJ Brown Credits Newest Eagles Corner for Impressive Start
When the Philadelphia Eagles signed Isaiah Rodgers to a contract last season, they knew they would not be able to see him on the field right away due to his gambling suspension.
Since his reinstatement though, Rodgers has been a player catching the eyes of every member of the Eagles.

And that includes some of their top leaders as well.
“For a guy that has not played football for a year, coming back, he looks like he has been playing nonstop,” A.J. Brown said of Rodgers. “He’s flying around, and he’s going to do special stuff for us this year.”
Rodgers is competing with several other members of Philadelphia's young secondary for a starting role. Players like second-year veteran Kelee Ringo, rookies Quinyon Mitchell/Cooper DeJean, and even the likes of UDFAs Eli Ricks are all in competition for one of the starting roles on the roster opposite Pro Bowler Darius Slay.
The more Rodgers continues to excel in practice against some of the league's better receivers, the more likely it is that the Eagles will feel comfortable with whoever eventually is the starter over the next few seasons.
In three seasons with the Colts before his suspension and subsequent release, Rodgers picked off three passes and grew to be considered one of the best up-and-coming cornerbacks in the game.
Now, he join an Eagles defense trying to improve from being one of the worst in the league last season.
