Zoe Ball 'glued back together' after 'embarrassing' emergency forced her off air
Zoe Ball returned to her BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show this morning following a medical dentist appointment after her broken teeth "pinged across the room".
Kicking off her hosting duties, Zoe, 53, began by thanking her co-star Gaby Roslin for stepping in at the last minute on Wednesday and went on to confirm that her teeth had now been "glued back together".
Explaining what had happened, the presenter went on to say that while on FaceTime to her brother Nick, she was flossing two previously broken teeth when, all of a sudden, they fell out.
"I didn't realise he was FaceTiming me to start with," she shared. "I picked my phone up, I was naked as I was about to get into the shower, and it's not what your brother wants to see is it?

"Anyway, I put my dressing gown on and I start flossing my teeth." Zoe went on to explain that she had initially knocked her two front teeth out as a youngster, so, therefore, they were slightly more sensitive.
She continued to say: "I'm talking to Nick and I've got the floss and it caught the back of my tooth and it pinged across the room." Zoe said that as she wasn't wearing her glasses at the time, she struggled to find the tooth and believed she had swallowed the other one.
When she did eventually see herself properly in the mirror, the presenter realised she had a "huge gap" and swiftly rang her dentist. Laughing as she reflected on the encounter, she joked: "I mean talk about an embarrassing reason not to make it into work. 'I've lost my teeth', I mean, my boss has heard it all now hasn't she?
"She's like 'Now what's happened?' You can't write this stuff!" Zoe proceeded to say: "It's alright, I have teeth now. I can speak properly and I can smile."
Ahead of Gaby stepping in to take over, Zoe mocked her incident over on her Instagram Story.
At first, she posted a picture of a character who had a tooth missing alongside the caption: "About last night... Me... Oops."
After the procedure, she followed up her post with a picture of Wayne's World's star Garth Algar (played by Dana Carvey) with a full smile and his signature blonde hair.
She commented: "Me... now. Thanks to Maddy at Dentalessence Burgess Hill for the emergency rescue."
The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show airs weekdays from 6.30am on BBC Radio 2.
