The revolution of artificial intelligence (AI) has created quite a buzz lately especially after it started crafting models and influencers with utmost precision. But now, what’s intriguing is that these AI-generated models and influencers will compete in a beauty pageant titled ‘Miss AI.’ The World AI Creator Awards (WAICAs), a pioneering global awards programme dedicated to recognising the achievements of AI creators around the world, has unveiled its latest endeavor with ‘Miss AI.’

According to the official website of WAICA, “The first instalment of the WAICAs is Miss AI – where traditional beauty pageantry is crossing the world of AI creators.”

The contestants will be evaluated on various aspects of pageantry such as beauty, poise and their unique answers to the series of questions asked during the competition. Additionally, their skills and implementation of AI tools to create digital masterpieces will be scrutinised including use of prompts and their output, and visual detailing.

“AI Creators social clout will be assessed based on their engagement numbers with fans, rate of growth of audience and how utilisation of other platforms such as Instagram,” the official website further mentioned.

The entrants “must be 100 percent AI-generated,” with no restrictions on the tools being used. “Miss AI welcomes creations produced from any type of generator, whether it’s DeepAI, Midjourney or your own tool,” the rules read.

The first prize is $5,000 cash, which will be given to the Miss AI winner along with promotion on the Fanvue platform, a mentorship programme worth $3,000, and PR support worth over $5,000. Fanvue, a subscription-based platform that hosts virtual models, is a WAICA partner. The runner-up and third place winner will also receive prizes worth $5,000 and $2,000 respectively.

The winners of the pageant will be announced on May 10 with an online awards ceremony set to take place later in the month, according to Forbes. The competition started accepting entries from Sunday, April 14.

The judging panel comprises four members, including two AI-generated judges. The first one being Aitana Lopez from Spain with more than 300,000 followers while the other one is Emily Pellegrini, who has more than 250,000 followers on Instagram.

The other two judges who are humans are Andrew Bloch, an entrepreneur and Lord Sugar’s PR adviser, and Sally-Ann Fawcett, a beauty pageant historian and author of the book Misdemeanours: Beauty Queen Scandals.

“It’s been a fast learning curve expanding my knowledge on AI creators, and it’s quite incredible what is possible,” Fawcett said in a statement, as quoted by Forbes.
