Why Rohit Sharma is not staying with his Mumbai Indians teammates in home matches
Former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has revealed that he is not staying at the team hotel during their home matches at the Wankhede, instead, he is staying at his home in Mumbai.
Rohit, who has been removed as Mumbai Indians captain at the start of the season has revealed on the podcast “Club Prairie Fire” and explained the reason behind it.
“I have got a lot of time on my hands these days. I am spending time with my family,” said Rohit.
“I am staying at home actually. The last four matches Mumbai Indians played here (Wankhede), I was staying at home. Just going an hour before when we have the team meeting. It’s been good, a little different but good,” he said.

Rohit Sharma ended his half-century drought with his first hundred in 12 years in the league against Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai. Although he remained unbeaten, Rohit could not see off the chase for his side. Rohit’s tempo during the knock has copped criticism from a few corners. However, the India captain has been at his best in terms of striking in recent years, going at a 167-plus strike rate, which augurs well for him in the lead-up to the World Cup.

Rohit Sharma on Thursday will play his 250th match in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He will become only the second player after MS Dhoni to play the 250 IPL games, when he will take the field against Punjab Kings at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur.
Rohit has played 249 IPL matches scoring 6472 runs at an average of 30.10 and a strike rate og 131.22. Rohit Sharma has managed 2 hundred and 42 half-centuries in his IPL career.
