Who are the top paid Indian IT CEOs as Ravi Singisetti leads the list

Cognizant CEO Ravi Kumar Singisetti, topped the list of highest paid Indian executives in the IT sector, pocketing $22.56 million (around Rs 186 crore) in compensation last year, reported Mint.

Singisetti, aged 52, assumed leadership of the Nasdaq-listed firm on January 12, 2023, following the dismissal of former CEO Brian Humphries by the board.

The bulk of Singisetti’s compensation came in the form of shares valued at $20.25 million (approximately Rs 169.1 crore) as per the company’s filings. These shares were granted on April 12, 2023.

“The PSUs have a target value of $3,000,000, with a payout range from 0 per cent to 250 per cent of the target over a four-year performance cycle based on the absolute total shareholder return of the company’s common stock. Additionally, an equity award comprising RSUs with a grant date value of $5,000,000, which was a buyout award to replace forfeited equity awards from his previous employer. Since the PSUs are subject to the performance condition described above, the actual payout may significantly differ from the target value attributed to them, potentially resulting in no payout at all,” said Cognizant.Â

Singisetti’s total remuneration accounted for 0.11% of Cognizant’s $19.35 billion revenue for the fiscal year.

Top CEO salaries in India

Wipro Ltd’s former CEO Thierry Delaporte received $10.1 million (approximately Rs 83 crore), which was 0.089% of the company’s $11.16 billion revenue.

HCL Technologies Ltd’s CEO Vijayakumar earned $10.65 million (around Rs 88 crore), constituting 0.085% of the company’s $12.58 billion revenue.

Accenture Plc CEO Julie Sweet’s remuneration stood at $31.55 million, which accounted for 0.049% of the company’s $64.1 billion revenue.

Infosys CEO and managing director Salil Parekh received $6.8 million (about Rs 56.4 crore), equivalent to 0.037% of the company’s $18.1 billion revenue.

Former CEO of Tata Consultancy Services Rajesh Gopinathan earned $3.5 million (approximately Rs 29.16 crore), which represented 0.012% of the company’s $27.9 billion revenue.
