Weather 'Ideal' for Nuclear Attack on NATO, Russian Forecaster Says on TV

There’s nothing political about the weather report. Or is there?

Knewz.com has learned what a forecaster in Russia said about conditions for a possible nuclear strike against NATO.

Evgeny Tishkovets appeared with popular Russia-1 TV talk show host Vladimir Solovyov in early March. Solovyov, a staunch supporter of President Vladimir Putin, brought up Russian missiles.

“The weather won’t get in their way,” he said, tossing to the forecaster with an apparent play on words about breaking free to “storm enemy positions.”

“Today, the weather is ideal for conducting nuclear strikes against NATO countries,” Tishkovets responded from a different studio.

Russian Media Monitor creator Julia Davis posted the conversation with a captioned translation Friday, March 8 on X (formerly Twitter).

“The air currents are directed in non-traditional ways,” Tishkovets continued as the screen showed a forecast for Moscow broken down by dayparts.

With winds blowing from east to west, “the radioactive clouds will travel toward those countries that are sending arms and mercenaries to fight against our army,” Tishkovets said.

But the conditions might be called “Cold War,” with a forecast afternoon high at the Kremlin of 28 degrees F and a low of 23.

Tishkovets went on to note he’d talked with Solovyov for some time about how “the deaths of our guys shouldn’t be the price of victory” in Ukraine.

“We should move up to a higher level of escalation,” Tishkovets added, citing Russian writer Sergey Karaganov.

“You will never see a weather report like this anywhere else in the world,” Davis commented about the three-minute TV clip.

But Solovyov probably did not object to it. According to Essanews, Solovyov suggested several days earlier that “Europe should be obliterated” for planning for war against Russia.

It turns out Tishkovets, 48, is listed as “awaiting sanctions” by the Ukrainian government.

A “War and Sanctions” government website cites him as part of a “mass media” group that would “justify and recognize as lawful the armed aggression of the RF [Russian Federation].”

Tishkovets is the senior meteorologist at the Phobos Center in Russia, according to the Tass news service.

Yet Tishkovets’s Facebook page notes he also is a lieutenant colonel in the Russian military. His posts include military strikes as well as forecasts.

But Tishkovets normally sticks to weather in his reports on Telegram. Tass has cited him often, such as in early January when Moscow’s temperature dropped to a winter low of -1 degrees with -13 northwest of the capital.

A winter storm in December 2023 was so fierce that Tishkovets reported snowdrifts in Moscow reached their highest levels in 150 years.

Knewz.com has mentioned Solovyov often during the two-year conflict with Ukraine. For instance, he claimed in mid-January that World War III was “already underway.”

A possibly less biased weather source, The Weather Channel, predicts afternoon temperatures in Moscow will be in the mid-30s in the days leading to Russia’s presidential election.
