Congress, BJP remote-controlled by Chandrababu Naidu in Andhra: YS Jagan Reddy
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday claimed that both Congress and the BJP are remote-controlled by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu in the state.Â
“Congress is remote-controlled by Chandrababu Naidu as the BJP is remote-controlled by Chandrababu Naidu. Today I am not just fighting the BJP, I am also fighting the Congress,” he said while speaking exclusively to India Today TV.
Further in his interaction, Jagan Mohan Reddy also spoke about the candidature of his sister YS Sharmila against him on a Congress ticket. The Chief Minister claimed that YS Sharmila will lose her deposits in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.Â
“I am hurt not because she (YS Sharmila) is contesting elections. The reason that bothers me is that she will lose her deposits in the polls. What she has done is not right. She is with the very party that put my father’s name on the chargesheet and filed fabricated cases against me,” Jagan Mohan Reddy said.
As Congress candidate for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat, YS Sharmila will take on her cousin YS Avinash Reddy from the ruling YSRCP run by her elder brother Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The YSRCP chief also alleged that YS Sharmila is being used by Chandrababu Naidu through Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
“Chandrababu Naidu and Revanth Reddy have propped up YS Sharmila to take me on in Andhra Pradesh,” he alleged.
When asked about allegations of putting Chandrababu Naidu in jail to clear opposition in the state, the YSRCP chief said, “Whether someone has done wrong or right, it stands the test of the courts. If the courts have deemed fit that this man be sent to prison, it means he has done something. The scams that he (Chandrababu Naidu) has committed have good enough evidence that sent him behind bars”.Â
Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister said welfare schemes will continue only if he returns to power and warned people to be wary of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu’s poll promises.
“The slew of welfare schemes like Amma Vodi, Vidya Deevena, Vidya Kanuka, Vasathi Deevena, Cheyutha, Aasara, Rythu Bharosa and services like door delivery of monthly social pensions through volunteers will continue only if Jagan continues to remain as chief minister,” Reddy said, referring to himself.
