Vishal begins pre-production work for ‘Thupparivaalan 2’

In early 2020, Vishal and Mysskin, who had teamed up for a sequel to their 2017 investigative thriller Thupparivaalan, had a fallout, and Vishal announced that he’d be taking over and directing the film. He had also released the first look of Thupparivaalan II on March 11, 2020.

However, COVID struck, and the project was put on hold. But now, Vishal has announced that he’s all set to resume work on the project by going on a recce to London, Azerbaijan and Malta.

Taking to social media, the actor wrote, “And my journey begins finally after 25 years. My dream, my aspiration, and my first thought of wat I wanna be in life has come true. Yes, I take charge of a new responsibility, the most challenging in my career, that of a debutante director. Here we go finally. Off to London, Azerbaijan and Malta for the recce of my first directo- rial debut #Thupparivalan2 & #Detective2. (sic)”

He also expressed hope that fans will support him as a director, just like how they have stood by him as an actor.

Interestingly, in his post, Vishal also seemed to indicate a sort of patch-up between him and Mysskin. “As a director too, thanks to #Mysskin sir for bringing my dream earlier. Don’t worry I never abandon anyone’s baby in real life or reel life. Will make it reach it’s destination sir, (sic)” stated the actor.
