‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ box office collections day 12: Dhyan Sreenivasan starrer mints less than ‘Aavesham’; collects Rs 1.15 crore

In the battle of Vishu releases at the box office, Fahadh Faasil’s ‘Aavesham’ emerges as the undisputed champion, leaving Dhyan Sreenivasan’s ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ trailing behind in terms of collections.

According to reports from the Sacnilk website, ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ managed to garner only around Rs 1.15 crore on its twelfth day, while ‘Aavesham’ continued its winning streak with a robust collection of Rs 3 crore on the same day.

Despite a promising start, ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ failed to match the soaring success of its competitor, ‘Aavesham.’ The film enjoyed a commendable run at the box office in its initial 11 days, minting an estimated Rs 28.90 crore in India net collections.

Analyzing the occupancy rates, ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ recorded an overall Malayalam occupancy of 23.81% on Monday, April 22, 2024. The morning shows witnessed a modest 14.85% occupancy, followed by a slight increase during the afternoon shows at 21.09%. As the day progressed, the evening shows saw a marginal rise in occupancy to 24.29%, with the night shows experiencing a notable surge at 34.99%.

Directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ is a period comedy-drama set in the backdrop of the South Indian film industry during the 1970s and ’80s. The multistarrer film revolves around the journey of two young men as they leave their hometown in pursuit of their dreams of making it big in the world of cinema.
