New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party Friday read out the readings of Arvind Kejriwal’s blood sugar as he doubled down on his party’s charge that there was a plot to kill the Delhi Chief Minister by denying him home-cooked food and insulin in jail. The prison authorities, however, have rejected the charges.

“There’s a big plan to harm Arvind Kejriwal. Many officers are also involved in this. I want to tell these conspirators that Kejriwal ji will neither be scared nor broken by any of your conspiracies,” Sanjay Singh – who has emerged as the face of AAP’s protests – said while addressing media persons.

The AAP leader said Kejriwal – who has Type 2 diabetes – was not allowed insulin despite his blood sugar level reaching dangerously high.

“12 April -320, 13 April- 270, 14 April – 300, 15- April -300, 16 April – 250, 17- April -280. These are the readings that he tells to his family. He has a patch on his hand and can check his blood sugar anytime,” he said. Kejriwal has been allowed to eat home-cooked food to deal with his ailment while in judicial custody.

The AAP has accused the BJP of and the ED of “trying to kill him” by attempting to stop the provision.

Lt Governor Seeks Factual Report From Tihar

Delhi Lt Governor V K Saxena Thursday expressed grave concern over reports and sought a factual report from the director general of prisons into the Aam Aadmi Party’s allegations of purported “conspiracies” against Kejriwal.

On Thursday, Atishi, while addressing a press conference, said that attempts to arrange a video conference with Kejriwal’s doctor are facing opposition from the ED and the prions officials.

“For the past several days, his blood sugar level has been consistently above 300 mg/dL,” she claimed.

“Despite Kejriwal’s repeated requests, he is not being given insulin, and his sugar level is increasing. He is not being given medication because there is a plot to kill him,” she alleged.
