Director Rahul Sadasivan, who has directed films such as Red Rain and Bhoothakaalam, has been receiving praise for his latest directorial Bramayugam. Starring Mammootty in the lead role, the horror film opened to positive reviews upon its release, earning 2.5 crore.

The film performed exceptionally well in its first weekend, earning Rs 7.2 crore. However, during the weekdays, on Monday and Tuesday, it saw a dip. It only earned Rs 1.65 crore and 1.40 crore respectively.

On Tuesday, Bramayugam had an occupancy of 23.60 per cent with night shows leading with 35 per cent. Kochi displayed an occupancy of 41 per cent.

The film has earned Rs 15 crore in the domestic market and Rs 34.05 crore worldwide.

Rahul Sadasivan on the sequel of Bramayugam

Talking to Kaumudy Movies, Rahul Sadasivan spoke about the possible sequel to the film. He said “I invested my whole energy in that film and that energy is over. The ending has been crafted in such a way that it’s left to interpretation. A sequel might or might not happen,”.

Prior to its release, Bramayugam’s team, including Mammootty, requested audiences not to expect too much from the film. Rahul Sadasivan said that after the film’s posters and teaser came out, several said that it was remarkable.

Talking about it, Rahul said, “So we became cautious. People began assuming that it would scare them a lot, probably because of my previous film, Bhoothakalam. Since Bramayugam is not intended to scare people that much, we decided to emphasize it as much as possible.”

Bramayugam is a Malayalam horror film featuring Siddharth Bharathan, Arjun Ashokan and Amalda Liz. The film is directed by Rahul Sadasivan, who has also written the story. Bramayugam is produced by Night Shift Studios and YNOT Studios.
