New Delhi: The Central Government has declared a half-day holiday for all employees in Central Government offices, institutions and industrial establishments on January 22, 2024. The half-day has been announced for the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya on Monday.
As per an official notice issued, “all Central government offices, institutions and industrial establishments throughout India will be closed for half day till 2:30 PM on January 22, 2024.”
As per the government, this decision has been taken “to enable all employees to participate in the celebrations for the Ram Lalla Pran Pratishtha at Ayodhya”.
Apart from this, all schools, colleges and shops in Delhi NCR will remained closed on January 22, 2024.
Liquor shops across Noida, Greater Noida, Delhi and Gurugram will remain shut on January 22, 2024 due to the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony. Many states have also declared January 22, 2024 as a “dry day” and banned the sale of alcohol on Jan 22.
Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Haryana have also announced a public holiday for January 22, 2024.
