Ola Electric S1 range prices slashed by ₹25k

E-scooter maker Ola Electric has cut the price of its S1 range of Ola Electric scooters by Rs 25,000, the company said on Friday. The revised prices will be effective in February only, Ola said.

Price of the Ola S1 X+ has been cut from Rs 1.09 lakh to Rs 84,999.

Price of Ola S1 Air has been cut from Rs 1.19 lakh to Rs 1.05 lakh.

Meanwhile, price of Ola S1 Pro has been cut to Rs 1.30 lakh, down from Rs 1.48 lakh previously.

By the end of the year, Ola hopes to have 10,000 electric two-wheelers deployed throughout three cities. It also intends to progressively expand its service nationwide. Ola asserts that it now has the biggest EV 2W fleet in the nation with the introduction of these cars.

The Softbank and Tiger Global-backed firm recently announced an extended warranty for all its variants of scooters to 80,000 kilometres (kms) or 8 years, compared to the 40,000 kms or 3 years that it currently provides.

“We are offering the longer warranty at no extra costs… the warranty will be transferable if the ownership changes,” founder and managing director Bhavish Aggarwal said. Users will also have the option to extend the warranty up to 1,25,000 kilometres at an extra charge, he added.

Ola Electric had first announced the S1 X model at an event on August 15 last year, along with four variations of electric bikes that were to be launched by the end of 2024. Asked about the progress on the electric bikes, Aggarwal only said it would be available “soon”.
