Subway is serving up a dessert to match its footlong sandwiches.

The sub chain announced that it will add 12-inch cookies to menus nationwide in early 2024. But, before adding the footlong dessert across the country, Subway is handing out the new dessert for free at select locations next week.

Monday, Dec. 4, is National Cookie Day and fans can visit a restaurant in Chicago, Dallas, Miami and New York City to snag one free footlong cookie with the purchase of any footlong sub. To see the exact locations handing out free cookies, check out the Subway website.

Subway first released the long cookies on National Cookie Day 2022 at a special pop-up in Miami.

The chain has been all about supersizing its products this year. In August, the chain revealed “Subway in the Sky”: a new dining experience on a blimp.

The sub-inspired aircraft was inspired by their footlong sandwiches. The 180-foot-long blimp has a restaurant underneath it with room for six guests to enjoy sandwiches. The “flying footlong,” as they called it, took to the sky in September and made stops in several cities, picking up sandwich-lovers along the way.

Fortunately, there are other food freebies if you aren’t in a city with free footlong cookies on Dec. 4.

Wendy’s is handing out free 6-piece chicken nuggets to customers with a purchase through the end of the year. The deal is available every Wednesday and for orders made through the Wendy’s app or online.

McDonald’s customers can score free fries on Fridays through the end of the year. Fans of the fast food chain who have opted into its rewards program can visit the chain’s app to redeem the offer. To grab the weekly deal all customers need to do is make a $1 purchase.

The app reads that this reward is “valid 1x each Friday thru 12/31/23,” giving users plenty of time to celebrate “free fries Friday.”
