Storm risk may hinder outdoor plans in southern Ontario
As temperatures rise across Southern Ontario, so does the risk of for some thunderstorm activity. As we’re heading towards our Saturday evening, this warm front will push in and bringing with it some of that instability, posing the risk for some non severe thunderstorms across regions of Southern Ontario stretching from Windsor all the way up to Timmins. We can be expecting some of these to come to fruition through the evening periods for areas down towards Windsor and into the overnight period across areas of Sudbury up towards Timmins as this cold front trails across the region. Now into Sunday afternoon, the cold front will be impacting areas across Southern Ontario as it pushes further towards the east, bringing about a second risk of some scattered thunderstorms across the region. Once again non severe in nature but posing the risk of heavy rainfall as well as some strong winds. And in terms of how much rain we will be expecting. With this areas across Southern Ontario we’ll be looking at 5 to 10mm whereas areas up towards Sioux Saint Marie higher amounts upwards of 20 to 30mm.
