‘Star’ director Elan confirms directing Dhanush

Elan, the talented director made his debut with the ‘Grahanam’ in 2015, but his debut directorial is yet to have a theatrical release. Elan then shot to fame with his second directorial ‘Pyaar Prema Kadhal’, and he grabbed attention through the romantic drama. Elan is next preparing to deliver ‘Star’ featuring Kavin in the lead role, and the film’s release date is expected to be announced soon. Now, in a YouTube chat with Cinema Vikatan, Elan has confirmed that he will be soon directing Dhanush in a Madurai-based story. Elan called his script for Dhanush his favorite one, and the dynamic actor also has a huge trust in the talented filmmaker. But both are very clear that the project should happen at the right time on a perfect scale.

Elan’s next directorial ‘Star’ features Kavin, Lal, Aaditi Pohankar, Preity Mukhundhan, and Geetha Kailasam in the main roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music, and the film’s cinematography is handled by Ezhil Arasu. ‘Star’ is just inches away from completion, and the film might see a release in May. Harish Kalyan was supposed to play the lead role in ‘Star’, but the ‘Pyaar Prema Kaadhal’ actor stepped out from the film due to its delay.

Dhanush, who awaits the release of ‘Raayan’, has a packed lineup of films that include ‘Kubera’ with Shekar Kammula, ‘D52’ with Mari Selvaraj, and ‘Ilaiyaraaja’ biopic with Arun Matheswaran. So, Dhanush’s film with Elan might take at least a year to roll on.
