SS Rajamouli is disturbed by the earthquakes in Japan; says, ‘The country holds a strong place in our hearts’
The east Asian country of Japan faced a major earthquake of 7.5 magnitude, and the news of the multiple earthquakes is being reported. Director SS Rajamouli, reacting to the earthquakes in Japan, took to social media to say that he is deeply disturbed by the news. The director shared his concern and stated that Japan holds a special place in his heart.
His tweet read, “It’s very disturbing to learn about the earthquakes affecting Japan severely. The country holds a special place in our hearts. My thoughts are with everyone affected.”

Apart from the earthquake, the Japanese government has also warned people of the tsunami, which was later lifted. According to MEDA reports from Japan, nearly 30 people lost their lives in the massive earthquake.
Japan holds a special place in director Rajamouli’s heart for another reason. His movie ‘RRR’ grossed the second highest in Japan, following India, and the director has many followers from there. ‘RRR’ in 2022 created history in Japan by grossing Rs 80 crore at the box office. Following the Oscars, this was a new record set by the movie.
In other news, amidst the major earthquake, Tollywood actor Jr. NTR and his family went to Japan to spend their Christmas and New Year holidays together. Over the trigger warning issues, the actor had to rush back to India over safety concerns. Taking to Twitter on January 2, 2024, The actor confirmed, “I’m back home today from Japan and deeply shocked by the earthquakes hitting. I spent the entire last week there, and my heart goes out to everyone affected. I am grateful for the resilience of the people and am hoping for a swift recovery. Stay strong, Japan.”
