Vineeth Sreenivasan says as a filmmaker he would never do a film like ‘Mukundan Unni Associates’

Vineeth Sreenivasan is currently basking in the positive feedback of his recently released directorial ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’. Apart from being a filmmaker, he is also a musician and actor. And one of his recent films as an actor, that made headlines was ‘Mukundan Unni Associates’, directed by Abhinav Sunder Nayak. Released in 2022, the film featured Vineeth Sreenivasan in a rather grey shade, which was quite unlike the characters he had played until then.

Recently, Vineeth Sreenivasan shared that he didn’t align with the ideologies of the character he played in ‘Mukundan Unni Associates’ or the film, however, he had no problem acting in it. He also stated that, as a filmmaker, he would never make a film like ‘Mukundan Unni Associates’.

In a recent interview with Film Companion, Vineeth said, “I don’t even have to buy into that philosophy. Abhinav Sunder Nayak is a great filmmaker. We worked together in Thira. He was my AD too. He has a different kind of mind, and thought process. I don’t allign with his thought process at all. But I respect it.”

Vineeth also expressed that he understands where the thought process of the director originates from and also added that the world wasn’t fair to the director of ‘Mukundan Unni Associates’. “I know where he is coming from. He had a different kind of struggle109024610, while growing up. And when he wanted to become a filmmaker, the world was unfair to him. He gets his perspective from there, and I understand that,” Vineeth said.

Vineeth went on to add that, though he doesn’t buy into that ideology, he could act in it as its someone else’s perspective, conviction and film, “So, I give into that. I would never make a film like ‘Mukundan Unni’ as a filmmaker.”
