SIP Stock By Sanjiv Bhasin: Veteran market expert Sanjiv Bhasin has named Hindustan Unilever as his top pick. In an exclusive conversation with ET NOW, Bhasin advised viewers do an SIP in HUL shares for bumper returns.

“Hindustan Unilever is my top pick. Now, we have been doing SIP for the last week,” he said.

The company’s results, he said, is going to exceed estimates. “We think the food security and the other harvest side is going to be very, very pleasantly surprising. Inflation is well-contained. In the upcoming election, the biggest beneficiary is the rural income.”

“Hindustan Unilever is a must-have in your portfolio,” Bhasin said.

“It (HUL) has corrected from Rs 2700. The risk-reward is favourable… book profit in some of the heavy performing FMCG and get into Lever,” he said.

“Hindustan Unilever is going to be a classic play of a defensive stroke, rural income is rising and lower inflation and better monsoon… At this price, we would say do an SIP in Hindustan Unilever,” he said.

Hindustan Unilever is a constituent of S&P BSE SENSEX. The company’s board will meet on April 24 to declare the quarterly result and also dividend.

“Board Meeting to be held on April 24 to consider financial statements for the period ended March 2024. Financial results / Dividend,” the company said in a statement on BSE.

HUL Dividend History

According to BSE website, HUL in 2023 paid a dividend of Rs 40 on each stock to its investors. In 2022, the company rewarded its investors by paying a dividend of Rs 36 on each stock. Back in 2021 and 202, the largecap FMCG counter had distributed a dividend of Rs 32 and Rs 37.50, respectively, on each stock to its investors.

HUL is a consumer goods company, offering a diverse range of fast-moving consumer goods (FMCGs). The company commands a market cap of Rs 5,15,253.62 crore.
