Sanju Samson played a captain’s knock and top-scored for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2024 match played against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Saturday (April 27). The 29-year-old wicketkeeper-batter came out to bat at No. 3 for RR, and with the help of seven fours and four sixes, he scored 71 runs from just 33 balls. He added 121 runs for the fourth wicket with Dhruv Jurel, who scored his maiden IPL fifty, to help RR chase down the target of 197 runs in 19 overs for the loss of just three wickets.

The win over LSG was the Royals eighth win in nine matches played so far in IPL 2024, and with a total of 16 points, the Men in Pink maintain the No. 1 position in the points table.

During the IPL 2024 match against the Lucknow Super Giants, the Royals needed 11 runs to win from the last two overs, but Samson sealed the deal with six balls to spare. He hammered LSG pacer Yash Thakur for a six on the last ball of the penultimate over of the match to take RR past the finish line.
