Sachin Tendulkar turns 51: Suresh Raina, Yuvraj Singh’s heart-warming birthday wishes

Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar is celebrating his 51st birthday. Revered to as the ‘God of Cricket’, Sachin has left an indelible mark with his contribution to Indian cricket for the generations to come. The cricket fraternity wished the batting maestro on his birthday and praised Tendulkar for being an inspiration. From BCCI secretary Jay Shah, to former India cricketers, Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh, who began their career under Tendulkar, took to ‘X’ to pour in their heartfelt wishes.Â

Sachin ended his illustrious career with 18,426 runs in ODI cricket and 15,921 runs in Test cricket. Known for his record-setting performances, Sachin went on to score 100 centuries, which included 49 in ODIS and 51 in Test cricket. Sachin brought the curtains down to his 24-year-long career in 2013, in his 200th Test match against West Indies at the Wankhede Stadium. In 664 international appearances for India, Tendulkar went onto score 34,357 runs and managed to lift the ODI World Cup in 2011.

Since his retirement, Sachin has worked with his foundation to help people across India. In terms of cricketing commitment, Sachin has mentored MI in the Indian Premier League. The former cricketer still plays a little bit of cricket here an there in the exhibition matches such as the Road Safety League.
