Team India captain Rohit Sharma on the podcast “Club Prairie Fire” revealed why it would be difficult to convince MS Dhoni to play in the T20 World Cup but it would be very smooth to convince Dinesh Karthik and also spills the bean on why he loves talking with Rishabh Pant.
“It will be hard to convince MS Dhoni for the T20 World Cup. He is sick and tired. He is coming to US to play golf, these days he is into golf. But DK (Dinesh Karthik)will be easier to convince,” said Rohit.
The finishers
Rohit said he is impressed with the way both MS Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik has batted in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). In his six outings for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the 38-year-old Dinesh Karthik has amassed 226 runs with a strike rate of 205.45. During their match against RCB, Rohit was even involved in banter with Karthik.
“Shabash DK! T20 World Cup mein selection ke liye push karna hai isko. Dimag mein chal raha hai iske World Cup. (Well done DK! He is pushing for a spot in the T20 World Cup. His mind is occupied with the thought of the World Cup),” Rohit was caught saying on the stump mic to Dinesh Karthik.

On the podcast, Rohit said: “I was quite impressed with the way Dinesh batted a couple of nights ago.”
Rohit also explained how Dhoni’s 4-ball 20 proved to be the difference between MI vs CSK clash at the Wankhede.
“Look he came to play for four balls, made a huge impact. He got those 20 runs and that was eventually the difference in the end,” he said.
Rohit Sharma on Rishabh Pant
Rohit Sharma says Rishabh Pant is someone, who makes him laugh the most.
“All these youngsters are quite crazy to be honest. If anyone who makes me laugh is Rishabh Pant. He is one crazy guy,” said Rohit.

“I have watching him since he was a kid. I was quite disappointed for him when he missed a year and a half because of that incident. I am glad that he is back in the field.
“He is quite witty, the kind of stuff he does behind the stumps. He has got his own way of doing it, this is what i like about him.
“Even when he was going through this patch when he was injured and not playing, he was still at his best. When I need to laugh, I call him. He will say something and all of us will burst into laughter,” he said.
