Linebacker Shaq Leonard is no longer with the Indianapolis Colts, but that hasn’t stopped him from coming to Lucas Oil Stadium on game day.
During the Colts’ Sunday clash with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team played a video on their in-stadium video board thanking Leonard for his six years of stellar play with Indianapolis. After the video, the camera cut to the linebacker himself, cheering on the Colts from a stadium suite during the game.
The Colts waived Leonard on Nov. 21 after he had expressed his discontent with the coaching staff and the lack of defensive snaps they were allowing him.
In five and a half seasons with Indianapolis, the second-round linebacker out of South Carolina State won the Defensive Rookie of the Year (2018), was a Pro Bowler three times (2019-2021) and a three-time, first-team All-Pro linebacker (2018, 2020, 2021).
