USA Basketball is one step closer to determining who will represent the team at this summer’s Olympic Games in Paris.
On Tuesday, the organization revealed its men’s player pool for the Games, and there are several notable names on the list.
Olympic gold medalists like Jimmy Butler, Anthony Davis, Kevin Durant and LeBron James are joined by potential newcomers like Anthony Edwards, De’Aaron Fox and Chet Holmgren.
Reigning NBA MVP Joel Embiid is included in the player pool after committing to play for Team USA last October.
Embiid was born in Cameroon but also holds both French and American citizenship, providing him with the choice between the three national teams.
The pool has been revealed after several high-profile players like Durant and James announced their intentions to play in the Games.
Notably, Stephen Curry is set to be among Team USA at the Olympics for the first time.
Curry has experience with Team USA – he won back-to-back World Cups in both 2010 and 2014 – but he will now look to take the biggest stage in international basketball.
USA Basketball will now form its final roster for Paris from the 41 names in the player pool.
Team USA has won the last four gold medals at the Summer Games, and by the looks of this player pool, it’s safe to say they’ll be favored to win this year.
