Vineeth Sreenivasan’s directorial ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ featuring Pranav Mohanlal and Dhyan Sreenivasan in the lead roles has emerged as a blockbuster. The film released on April 11, has crossed Rs 50 crore at the worldwide box office collection! The makers have confirmed the same via their social media handle. The film has achieved the feat within seven days of its release.

“One… two… three… clap! The magic of cinema around you is getting stronger than ever. #VarshangalkkuShesham crosses 50 crores worldwide gross! Thank you all! Now in cinemas near you!” the makers said in their note on Wednesday (April 17) night.

Written and directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan, ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ is an ode to cinema and friendship. The film’s cast also includes prominent faces such as Aju Varghese, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Basil Joseph, Vineeth Srinivasan, Neeraj Madhav, Neeta Pillai, Arjun Lal, Aswath Lal, Kalesh Ramnath, and Shaan Rahman etc. Interestingly, the film also marks the reunion of Nivin Pauly, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Dhyan Srinivasan, Aju Varghese, Basil Joseph and Visakh Subramaniam after the Dhyan Sreenivasan directorial ‘Love, Action, Drama’.

ETimes rated the film 3 out of 5 and wrote, “Almost 20 years after Mohanlal and Sreenivasan did a film together about celluloid dreams, titled Udayananu Tharam, their sons have come together in a film on the same theme, but with a different feel. While Varshangalkku Shesham is also about missed opportunities, the Vineeth Sreenivasan directorial, which spans about 50 years, is at the heart, a story of friendship, with lots of in-jokes woven in. Vineeth’s script, where the two friends blow hot and blow cold doesn’t flow smoothly. And while audiences loved the jokes referencing Sreenivasan or the industry, the rest of the humour doesn’t really land. Also, it’s a bit disappointing that there are no prominent women characters. From such a fun team, we would have expected a more engaging, moving film.”
