This 2016 Kannada Movie, Made On A Budget of Rs 4 Crore, Minted Rs 50 Crore

Rashmika Mandanna’s debut release, the Kannada film Kirik Party was deemed an immensely success, after its release back in 2016. However, this Rishab Shetty directorial was made under a low budget, which went on to become one of the biggest Kannada releases of the year.

Kirik Party introduced Rashmika Mandanna, a successful name in the Indian film industry. As per reports, the film was made under a budget of Rs 4 crore. Interestingly, both Rishab Shetty and the film’s male lead Rakshit Shetty were new names in the film industry.

Directed by Rishab Shetty, Kirik Party was released on December 30, 2016. The cast of the film included Rakshit Shetty, Rashmika Mandanna, Samyuktha Hegde and Achyuth Kumar, among many others. It was produced by GS Guptha and Rakshit Shetty under the banners of Paramvah Studios and Pushkar Films. The music in the film was composed by B Ajaneesh Loknath while the cinematographer was Karm Chawla and Sachin B Ravi did the editing. The film went on to collect Rs 50 crore after its release.

The film’s director Rishab Shetty is currently busy with the prequel of his 2022 superhit Kantara, which is titled Kantara: Chapter 1. It is being helmed as well as headlined by Rishab Shetty. Furthermore, Vijay Kiragandur is producing the film under the banner of Hombale Films while the music is being composed by B Ajaneesh Loknath. It is set to have its theatrical release in December 2024. As per reports, the film is being made under a budget of Rs 400 crore.

On the other hand, Rashmika Mandanna was last seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal alongside Ranbir Kapoor. The film is one of the highest-grossing Indian films. Some of her upcoming works include Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule, Rainbow, The Girlfriend and Chaava.
