Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia menjadi wakil kedua RI yang bertanding melawan Thailand dalam perempat final Piala Uber 2024 di Chengdu, China, Jumat (3/5). Mereka mengalahkan Jongkolphan Kititharakul/Rawinda Prajongjai dengan skor akhir 21-17 dan 21-14. Indonesia 2-0 Thailand.

Kedua pasangan berduel sengit sejak awal gim pertama. Skor sempat 7-7, tetapi lalu Apriyani/Siti tertinggal 10-11 di interval.

Setelahnya, Apriyani/Siti tetap memberikan perlawanan gigih atas Kititharakul/Prajongjai. Skor sempat 12-12, 15-14, 19-17, sebelumnya akhirnya wakil Indonesia mengunci kemenangan 21-17.

Pada gim kedua, Apriyani/Siti menunjukkan dominasinya. Mereka mampu meraih keunggulan yang cukup jauh, yakni di kedudukan 9-3. Sayang, wakil RI lalu sempat lengah dan membuat pasangan Thailand mengejar 9-8. Apriyani/Siti unggul tipis 11-9 di interval.

Setelahnya, terlihat bahwa Apriyani/Siti lebih solid. Pukulan mereka lebih tajam dan lebih minim kesalahan. Mereka menang 21-14.

Sebelumnya, Gregoria Tunjung menaklukkan Ratchanok Intanon. Setelah ini, Ester Nurumi akan bertanding melawan Supanida Katethong.
